About Har...

The first albums I ever owned as a very young child were Tangerine Dream's "Rubycon" and The Sandal's instrumental surf classic "Soundtrack to 'The Endless Summer'"...which may explain a few things about my somewhat warped taste in music.

I started playing piano at age 7, guitar and bass at 15, synths at 16...and it's been a long, long ride ever since.

I've played in numerous East Coast bands all through the 80's and 90's, and played on several indie-release albums (as keyboardist and bassist) during the same time period, all of which are now out of print (not my fault, honest!).

I eventually "retired" from playing live gigs in 2002 so as to devote more time to writing and recording. And here I am.

I record as one half of Christus & The Cosmonaughts on guitars, Chapman Stick, basses, synths and drum programming (with the amazing Scot Solida on the other half singing and playing everything else), with our our new album "From Atop This Hill" now available on Beta-lactam Ring Records.
Though technically not an "official band member", I also have been doing quite a bit of recording with the very cool German synth-pop band elmodic. I played the guitar solo on the single "Shallow Man" from their excellent 2005 debut album "Unsound Fantasy", and played all 6- and 12-string guitars on their follow-up 2008 album "Monoism" on the A Different Drum label.

My own "solo" recording projects could be considered being in a prog-rock/industrial/ambient/experimental/electronic/goth-metal/EBM/surf kind of style...or not. I guess I'll leave that decision up to you! Recently I've been recording quite a bit of ambient soundscape music recorded almost purely on guitar and Chapman Stick (hence the website's name!), with my first solo album, "Dream Tower Blueprints" now available from CDBaby and iTunes. Tracks from the album have received airplay on such noted ambient/space-music radio shows as NPR's Star's End, Hearts Of Space, and Stillstream.com.

I'm also the host of "Nightscaping", a weekly radio show on Stillstream.com with a focus on the more dark and mysterious corners of the ambient music universe, where I often also do live-in-the-studio improv solo performances as well as "spinning the ambient hits" (every Sunday night starting at 6:30pm Eastern / 5:30pm Central).

And that's all the stuff I do during my free time: by day I'm a web developer/programmer/IT guy. So that basically means I spend most of my waking hours parked in front of a computer. Except when I'm working on music: then I'm usually parked in front of a computer...with a guitar plugged into it.

(Oh, and in case you were wondering: "Har" doesn't rhyme with "car" or "hair". Instead, it's actually pronounced like this)
